Wolviston Primary School is a Right’s Respecting School and as such we will:

  • welcome everyone
  • establish strong links between home, school and community
  • endeavour to reach our full potential and celebrate our achievements
  • care for, encourage and respect each other
  • support each other to stay safe, healthy and make a positive contribution to our world.

Staff and governors at Wolviston Primary believe that all children have an equal right to a full and rounded education which will enable them to achieve their full potential. Our shared vision and ethos, including our ‘Small School Big Dreams… Learning, Caring, Succeeding Together’ mantra, encourages staff and governors to strive towards meeting and securing the highest Special Educational provision for all pupils for whom this is required, that is ‘additional to and different from’ that provided within the differentiated curriculum to better respond to the four areas of need identified in the SEND Code of Practice.

Mrs. S. Hawes holds the National Award for Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinator (NASENDCo) and as SENCO she works closely with school staff and outside agencies to support and assess children as a need arises. All staff in school receive regular updates and training to enable them to support children in their learning journey, including those who have Special Educational Needs or/and a disability.
